Binchotan activated carbon removes pollutants from water.
A real miracle of nature – and even good looking.
The Kichu Binchotan activated carbon made of Japanese stone oak has been used since the 17th century. used by Japanese monks to purify drinking water. The coal is produced from sustainably cultivated wood, which is charred in a kiln at low temperature and then heated to approx. 1,000 degrees until the wood glows red. Finally, it is covered with a mixture of soil, sand and ash.
Activated carbon has a high adsorption capacity, but only a limited loading capacity. Regeneration usually takes place by heating to several hundred degrees Celsius. On the one hand, one part evaporates the load (e.g. organic solvents), on the other hand, another part can also carbonize, i.e. become a solid component of the coal.
The SPINE filters so efficiently that all coarse and fine substances such as odours and flavours, chlorine and ozone, microscopic pollutants such as pesticides and a large number of hormonally active substances are filtered out of the water.
The activated carbon filter balances the pH value of the water, reduces the chlorine content and enriches the tap water with important minerals (e.g. calcium, iron and magnesium).

Easy to reactivate
After approx. 3 months of use in water you should reactivate the carbon filter. Just boil it in water for about 10 minutes.
If you offer water from a glass carafe with a SPINE, your guests not only love your water, you also have a great topic of conversation immediately.
The water tastes fresher, smoother and softer than before.

Filter stick activation
- Rinse briefly under clear running water before using for the first time.
- Cook in a water pot for 10 minutes.
- Place in the water carafe or bottle and let it take effect. 2-4 hours is good. 8 hours is optimal. Half the time is enough for water whirled with Spring.
- After 3 months, boil again and use for another 3 months.
- Then use as plant fertilizer or odour neutraliser.
Note: After a short period of use (e.g. when travelling), boil, allow to dry out and store in an airtight and light-proof place in the refrigerator until the next use.
